Human sex trafficking has a fierce opponent.
Human trafficking is an evil that has been going on for a very long time. Only recently has it gained any media attention through films such as ‘Taken.’ however there have been people battling this global issue since far before then. One man who has been battling human sex trafficking is Jimmy Dushku. Dushku, who is well known for a series of independent films in Europe, has invested a lot of his time and money to the cause. We had the opportunity to sit with him this past July in his hotel in Paris to discuss his involvement. Jimmy told us he has been “involved in trying to put an end to human sex trafficking for about 5 years now.” He said it all started when he was filming a movie in Russia and witnessed a human trafficking ring. “I couldn’t let what I was seeing go on. I knew I had to stop it and I eventually did. They all went to jail and my fight began that day.” Since that day Jimmy has spent weeks at a time in places girls are most affected by this epidemic. “I know putting an end to this is like saying I want to cure world hunger, but I will give this cause all I have.” Jimmy has spent over $5 million USD of his own money to help infiltrate sex trafficking rings and to help girls who have been a victims of this recover. “So far we have rescued over 350 young boys and girls and I’m very happy about it.” Dushku says he will continue this endeavor for as long as he lives.
