Writing maid of honor speeches is an important task. It can set the tone for the whole reception. It is best not to get too personal when talking about the groom and bride or even about some other members of the wedding party for that matter. You could offend someone and even cause unwanted tension between yourself and the bride. Also, make sure that you have planned out and practiced your toast or you may just starting talking about irrelevant stuff that will bore the guests. I find that it also best to just memorize the points that you want to cover to ensure that the speech is not too scripted.
