Medial tibial stress syndrome is a common overuse injury of the shin bone or leg bone. In the past this used to be called shin splints, but the term was really used for any leg pain in runners. Medial tibial stress syndrome is pain along the inside border of the shin bone or tibia, usually about in the middle third. It is thought that the pain develops where the soleus muscle or calf muscle inserts into the bone, but this is not always the case. The most common cause of this is a foot that pronates too much, which put an abnormal strain on the bone and might totally lead to Medial tibial stress syndrome but you should be aware of the other condition since it may not be the same symptoms just like on what is being describe.
