Are There Really No Credit Check Apartments?
Sally recently moved to the Washington, DC area after getting an internship with a trade association. She wants to know where to find no credit check apartments because she has very bad credit. Sally can look for a landlord who does not conduct a credit check through a real estate agent or through a Web site like Craigslist. If Sally does not have a credit history, she could find a co-signer for her apartment. Sally needs to understand that if she misses any payments, the landlord will go after her co-signer for the value of the lease. If Sally has a previous landlord, a positive recommendation from the landlord will help bolster Sally’s credibility. Sally can also pay the landlord months in advance if she has the money. Finding an apartment without checking credit history is risky, but if Sally follows these instructions, she will be able to find an apartment and begin her internship.
