I have lately been considering Voluntary Repossession and handing back the keys to the mortgage provider but I’m not sure if this is the right thing to do.

I also believe that they may still persue me as the value of the house will not exceed the amount I owe on the mortgage.

I am in negative equity big time!

The mortgage is about £96K and the house is now probably only worth £85K as it was valued only 3 months ago and the housing market hasn’t improved any.

I’m wondering if Voluntary Repossession may also effect my credit rating and leave me with more debts than now. I’m also considering selling my house fast – bu the negative equity problem is a really issue!

Has anyone been through voluntary repossession?
