ICBC lawyers don’t work for ICBC, although there are lawyers who do work for ICBC.  A lot of them in fact.  No, an ICBC lawyer is called that because they act for people hurt in car accidents or other types of motor vehicle accidents, including pedestrian, motorcycle, and bicycle accidents occurring in British Columbia.

When an ICBC lawyer takes on an injured person’s case, that lawyer builds the case in order to persuade ICBC to pay a fair and just settlement for for compensation for the harms and losses suffered by the injured person.  Therefore, when you see the term ICBC lawyer, it refers almost always to the lawyers that represent injured people, not for ICBC.
